2026 Event Speaker
Sarah Bradley, Director and Owner, HR Dept Leeds South and Bradford
12.00pm: Changes to unfair dismissal rules.
What are they? What does it mean? What do employers need to do?
In practice, businesses may no longer be able to rely on short service dismissals in the way they have before. From January 2027, employees will qualify for ordinary unfair dismissal rights after six months’ service. This means there is an increased risk of unfair dismissal claims for businesses, it’s more important than ever to make sure you are protected. This means having the right processes in place.
Come along to hear Sarah Bradley from The HR Dept Bradford and Leeds South guide us through these changes and help us understand what needs to be implemented to protect businesses. Even if you do not employ directly, if you support businesses with services this will equip you with more understanding of what the businesses you work with are facing and enable you to engage with them on this topic.
